BOOK REVIEW: The Mapmaker and the Ghost

The Mapmaker and the Ghost
by Sarvenaz Tash

The Mapmaker and the Ghost is Sarvenaz Tash debut novel, copyright date 2012. this book has several of my favorite things: Quirky characters, ghosts, quests, a feisty main character, vivid settings and a little history thrown  in.

It starts with Goldenrod going out on a quest to map the forest, there she meets a ghost and a little old lady (which is not your typical little old lady as we find out later.) The lady asks Goldenrod to find a special flower.

During the quest for the flower, she runs to into a gang of kids up to no good. They kidnap her little brother and steal and do all sorts of crazy things.

The quirky characters are identified by their special "abilities".
No-Bone is a contortionist (bend in awesome ways.)
Toe-Jam
Spitbubble
Snotshot
Lint
and Brains are just some of the characters you will meet. You will have to read the book to find out what the special abilities are.

I highly recommend this book.
